Also there is no backup facility built-in. All of my files are externally linked in their original locations, but the database is approaching 100MB in size? Not sure why. One thing I have noticed is that it creates quite a large database of entries. This Concept Map, created with IHMC CmapTools, has information related to: My workflow, Mind maps Possibly link to entries by using journler:// URIs Journler, my TODO list Possibly link to entries by using journler:// URIs Journler, Journler alongside Annotations over the whole concept and data which does not pertain to specific parts of it but rather to the concept as a whole, Concept maps. I think future releases will have a cost attached, but I will certainly be paying my way and supporting it. It does everything I require and is free.
#JOURNLER FOR MAC ARCHIVE#
Great for referring to information when say word processing in NeoOffice.Īlso I really like way that websites can be added as an archive so they can be viewed offline.Īll in all a very good well rounded app. One nice touch is that you can open an entry in a separate floating window so it will stay on top. There is a web browser built-in so there is no need to for it to open up Safari in another window. It will handle any file as an attachment, but has native support for Word docs and PDFs. It works with PDFs, Word docs, Excel spreadsheets, Keynote presentations, web links. Teacher resources, lesson plans, publications, snippets from websites, I can file then the way I want and don't have to work to a set layout that an app like MacJournal seems to take. I don't have to hunt around in Finder to find the file I am looking for.Īs a teacher, there is a wealth of information that I gather from the net. I am working with 100 entries at the moment, but I can lay my hands on a piece of information really quickly. I like the way that a journal entry can be contained in multiple folders, either by dragging it in there or creating a smart folder based on criteria I can specify and do it automatically. It handles attachments the way I want: can either be imported or linked externally. It seems to do everything I'm after: smart folders, tagging, spotlight integration for searching. So far no problems with it working in Leopard.
#JOURNLER FOR MAC FREE#
First of all it is free (for the moment) so I can give it an extended test drive. I have gone with Journler for the time being.
